Active Support

1 hour a year, yes a year is all that is needed to be a member of Scout Active Support (SASU). Scouting benefits from people  helping/supporting other groups and sections and it’s great FUN too.

The members and friends try to meet about once a month on different evenings, in different locations around the district and have a fun event. In 2013 there was a music quiz, a laser quest night, raft building, bottle bingo,  in 2014 we had a Christmas disco/buffet where 90 people attended, a Family Fortunes style evening, and a visit to the Chinese buffet in Aug. 2015 has also been very busy.

Often groups “request” help running events, camps and asking for people to help with specific skills.

There are 3 requirements to be a member of Scout Active Support, aged over 18 and DBS cleared through the Scout Association and MUST WANT TO HAVE FUN.

Communications are via email, text or being a member of our Facebook group, which has over 200 members, a termly newsletter is also distributed.

We also run a uniform bank where unwanted uniform is donated to us, washed and then made available to anyone who can’t afford to buy new, so if you are reading this any have any uniform no longer needed or need an item please contact us.

If you would like any more info please send a message via the Join the adventure link on the Home page of this site.
