Red Rose 2014

From 26th July to 2nd August 2014 2000+ Scouts, Guides, Leaders and Staff
all ascended onto Westmorland Showground in Cumbria for what was to
be the best Red Rose ever!


South Ribble was very well represented with participants from   6th Penwortham,Leyland URC, 1st Hoole, Leyland St Marys, South Ribble Explorers, PECs, and 9th Penwortham. 
The week got started with a great opening ceremony hosted by the one and only lightning Lee!
The whole of the week was dedicated to the #redroseselfie so what better way to start proceedings than with a selfie.

Participants took part in a week of Adventure, Challenge, Splash, Explore and Fun!

Red Rose 2014 became a crossroad of culture as we celebrated International day! Simon McGlen Camp chief said
“If the world was run by Scouts and Guides then it would be a better place to live”
this is so true and could be seen by 12 different countries all living in peace and harmony and achieving one goal to have fun!

Lee even had the UK Chief Commissioner Wayne Bulpitt and the Incoming UK Internatioanl Commissioner doing some tribal African dancing.

Penwortham Groups Join the Circus

On Saturday 14th June 2014, 5th Penwortham, 8th Penwortham and 9th Penwortham, all took part in Penwortham Gala 
9th Penwortham won Best Float and 5th Penwortham won best walking group.
