Congratulations to Brindle St James and Leyland URC Scouts who jointly won this year’s hiking competition.
The hike was set over several miles of beautiful countryside around Rivington and ending up at Bibby’s Farm Campsite.
Thank you to all the Leaders for their help on the day.
Brindle St James Scouts have won this competition before and very gallantly offered for Leyland URC Scouts to hold the trophy for the first 6 months. It will be passed on to Brindle in March.                       …

My first competition in scouts was the South Ribble Dragon Quest 2014 and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Although I was the second youngest member of the team, I fully participated and gave my strong points into the competition. Along with five others, I did several different challenges and walked about 12 kilometres, all within 6 hours on Sunday the 21st of September.
Dragon Quest is basically a mini Bowlander, giving scouts a taste of what they may come across if they entered the Bowlander for the first time. There …

25 young people in South Ribble were this evening awarded their Chief Scout Award Gold at a presentation held at Wellington Park in Leyland ,
These 25 young people received their awards with 85 other young people from around West Lancs,
Awards were presented by Chris Harris – North West Regional Commissioner.
Well done to all the young people who received awards and Thanks to the leaders who work to get these young people to achieve this award,

38 scouts representing 6 troops from across the District spent a very interesting and creative Saturday in February at 2nd Leyland’s Scout hut. Challenges varied from designing a poster to advertise scouts, making a crocodile model, writing and performing a puppet play to mind challenging puzzles
